They’re loud, they’re boisterous, they’re all up in each other’s business, and they have possibly the coolest nest in Brooklyn. The Green monk parakeets can be found in various spots throughout the borough, but they’re most iconic at Green-wood Cemetery, where they’ve built intricate nests in the gothic spires of the cemetery’s main entrance. These feisty birds will look dapper on a vest, jean jacket, coat, backpack or tote bag. They weren’t made to blend in.
